Heart At Work For August

ABOUT The AUGUST "HEART AT WORK" Nominee

Name : Christie Hammonds, CNA !

IN CHRISTIE’S WORDS: I’m a mother of five beautiful girls, 5 grandchildren, and a bouncing boy on the way next month and a wonderful husband.  I have been working for ARRC One for a couple years now, I must say after working for agencies for the past 30 years, this staff is the best, working for someone that actually cares, and will have you back in many situations, someone that’s hands on with the facilities, working to get the best for us, I look forward to working for ARRC One many more years thank you!

OUR HEART OF THE MONTH - Christie Hammonds

IN OUR WORDS: Christie has referred at least 5 staff members to our team. She is a positive influence to a team approach and has supported management efforts to curb call offs and take charge of tardies. Christie will “look out for” new team members, partner with them and mentor them. When an ARRC One staff member is on the deployment sheet but not in the house, she will call us and sometimes them, to make sure they know they are scheduled! When kitchen help is needed, she’s the first to offer help.

When GNH had a tough two weeks due to management changes, Christie supported ARRC One’s efforts when we said “TRUST US”.

Christie has helped a staff member of the Grove at NH with rides to work, and rides to medical appointments.

She stands behind caring for people who care for people!

ABOUT KATE

Name : Kate Sutton-Test

City/State : Tacoma/Puyallup, WA

About me: I have a strong desire to improve myself and the lives of those around me.

I am attempting to create a team in my facility because I am qualified in critical incident stress management. My goal is to assist my coworkers in reducing the moral discomfort, compassion fatigue, and burnout that are plaguing the healthcare and first responder sectors and raising worrisome suicide rates.

I work as a critical care nurse volunteer for the local county and have traveled on medical missions to Ghana, Guatemala, and Haiti.

During the worst of the Covid 19 surge in our region, I put together a little campaign to thank and honor my coworkers in critical care as well as numerous local first responder agencies.

OUR HEART OF THE MONTH - Kate Sutton

We would like to congratulate Kate Sutton on being named our heart of the month. Kate has worked as a home health aide for ArrcOne from the beginning of our business.

Kate handles each client as if they were family, regardless of whether they are a long-term client or just a fill-in visitor for the day.

Over the years, there have been many changes at our organization, and Kate has adapted to each new project and policy modification.

We congratulate Kate on her devotion to our business and dedication.

TESTIMONIALS

“Despite my aunt being pretty ill, Hannah has worked incredibly hard and has been composed and comforting. It must have been a very stressful circumstance for her to accompany and stay with my aunt when she was admitted to the hospital. As grateful as we are, I’m sure my aunt was as well. Despite all of this, Hannah still makes time to update us. She never loses her optimism, and she makes my aunt smile as well.”

TESTIMONIALS

“The kind of person who gives everything to what she does, Evelyn is wonderfully kind.

She was constantly thinking about how to improve her quality of life and doing so.

Working so closely and sincerely with the family.

Gives their  100% at all times. She exercised extreme caution. Although she is an excellent caregiver, we have had better ones in the past. She arrived at the perfect time, and everything fell into place since she understood our goals.

She is a unique kind of individual who is willing to carry out our instructions while facilitating our contact with Mom as she declined.

Mum has recently passed away but Evelyn made sure she was in comfort for as long as she could be.”

We congratulate Avah on her devotion to our business and dedication.

TESTIMONIALS

*Avah has requested that we only use her first name when sharing her story; we are excited to highlight her kindness and dedication this month.
According to Alice, Peter’s daughter, Avah is the caregiver of the month for January for the following reasons:

“Beginning in November 2021, Avah started looking after my 99-year-old father, Peter, and she has fully won him over. He is delighted for her to take care of his personal needs now that she has earned his trust; this is something that his former caregivers were not always allowed to do. He constantly looks sharp, his disposition has improved, and they are pals in real life.”

“Avah prepares healthy meals for him, and he really adores her fruit cakes! She is quite patient and takes her time getting to know him and his interests. It’s a big improvement that Dad’s skin tone is decent and that his feet and ankles are no longer bloated. Despite Dad’s limited mobility, she consistently shows support.”

“She has been with her father nonstop for more than 10 weeks and is absolutely attached to him. He spent more than 30 years in the Army, so he now has a regimen that works for him. Avah is very cheerful and draws the best out of her father; you may frequently hear them laughing together. Since Mum passed away in June 2021, Dad has been convinced by Avah to listen to his music as well. He now appears at ease and content.”

“Like her father, Avah takes the initiative to check the safety of potential guests. Even though she claims to be only doing her job, she goes above and above. Simply put, we adore Avah!”
